About

I’m Maha Atef. I’m very interested in the science of pharmacotherapy, which I’m representing through this blog. I’ve graduated from the faculty of pharmacy, Misr International University (MIU) in 2007. Then, I’ve done a diploma in Total Quality Management for Healthcare Reform in the American University in Cairo (AUC) and a diploma in Clinical Pharmacy in Ain Shams University.

Through my blog, I’m trying to help whoever experiences difficulty understanding and memorizing diseases and corresponding treatment approaches. I’m convinced with the idea of connecting information together and making links between them, to prevent their escape from my mind, so I’m presenting diseases using the concept mapping method to help in dealing with “information explosion!” in the field of pharmacotherapy.

I really hope that you find this blog helpful. Your comments and suggestions for new contents and topics are always welcomed.

Hi Maha! This is useful; how do you develop each presentation- what steps do you take? Combinining zoom-out pharmacology with computerized provider order entry (CPOE) might be a way to assist providers in adopting evidence-based medicine? I will read more about what you do.

    Thanks!

Hi kel, thanks a lot for your interest in my work. To develop a zoomed out picture for a disease: first, I make a mind map with all collected information. Then, I start to arrange this information in a concept map with inter-linking it in a way to be understandable & easily recalled. I also use cliparts to help doing so.

Concerning your suggestion about CPOE, i think that i need more clarifiction from you about how to apply this idea. By the way what is your profession?
      Thanks :)
